Weekly Update 1/13/2013

Hey Red-Crossers! I hope your year's been off to a good start! It's the third week of the year, and we're bringing back weekly updates! These updates will include information on upcoming socials, volunteer events, and important dates. As always, sign-ups will be under the "Current Sign-ups" tab.

Socials

January 19th- Ice Skating
Have a random urge to go ice skating? PERFECT. The Red Cross is holding its annual ice skating social at the Ice Center Cupertino (10123 North Wolfe Road, Cupertino, CA 95014)!! It will be on January 19th from 1:30-4PM and the cost is only $12(everything included)! This event is open to everybody! (P.S.The person who brings the most friends, family, acquaintances will get a special surprise!) AND there will be food! So get that butt-padding ready for a fun-filled event! Questions or concerns? March 16- Flash Mob
Flash Mob season is almost here. I know it sounds amazing! It is easy to tell you are interested in participating in this glamorous affair. Here are the details you would want to know: It will be held on March 16, 2013 in the evening at Santana Row! If interested, send an e-mail with your name,school, and grade to arcsvspirit@gmail.com by January 18th, 2013! The best part of it all? NO DANCE EXPERIENCE NEEDED! It is just a great opportunity to meet new people and get that body moving! Sign-up as soon as possible!

January 21st- MLK Door-Hanging
Looking for something exciting to do this MLK day? Look no further! On Monday, January 21st, join us in hanging disaster preparedness door-hangers around local neighborhoods in San Jose and Milpitas. Earn volunteer hours while adventuring around town with your fellow Red-Crossers, all while spreading the word of disaster preparedness! Be sure to RSVP!

January 27th- BAT Class
Sign up to teach a Basic Aid Training class! You must be a trained BAT instructor to teach. There are only 8 instructor slots open per session, so sign up quick!
